This year at Campbell Valley Horse Trials, Lanzelot made a big impact! We had 18 horses from Lanzelot Stables compete, and we also hosted the young riders BBQ on Saturday night. Thanks to Mike Martin, Terry Drake, Don Fraser, Kevin Smith, Mick Adamanski & Mark Poppleton for their mad bbq'ing skills and the many others involved in the prep for feeding 150+ people.
This was the first time event for many: three of our youngest riders (Austine, Taylor and Grace), Aysia Patjas and as well as three of our ladies, Ramona Ludwar, Lauren Hall and Ashley Sudds - Congratulations ladies!! Our working student Madeline Scott had a double clear round in cross country and showjumping in prelim and earned herself a 3rd place finish on Maxcima (Max). Sara Sellmer competed three of her training horses; Midnight Tango II (Tango) and Rambo, both in pre- training, and Triple Sec (Rowan) in the training division who she ended on a dressage score and came in first place! Mia Poppleton riding Life of Reilly (Reilly), came in 4th in entry and was also awarded the prestigious Canadian Eventing Cross Country Style Award. This award recognizes competitors who demonstrate exemplary cross country technique and educates riders and coaches as to what constitutes safe riding cross country. All in all a very successful weekend for Lanzelot Stables! This year at 'The Event' at Rebecca Farms in Kalispell Montana, Lanzelot represented very well! This event showcases all levels from pre-training to CCI***.
Sara Sellmer brought her two competing horses TF Kreisler (Brad) and Sloan McQuick (Femika) and competed at the intermediate level, finishing 7th on Brad & 5th on Femika. Madeleine Scott, our working student, brought Maxcima (Max) owned by Malia Orr and competed at the preliminary level finishing with a honourable 3rd place, and Allisa Taylor brought home a 6th place ribbon with her horse Good Times (Winston) at training level. This event has become a huge part of Lanzelot every summer, and many of its riders and their families come to watch and support the barn! We missed Tj Drake, Sara's groom, this year due to scheduling conflicts but Mia Poppleton filled in with Natasha Williams to keep Sara's horses well looked after and happy. Already looking forward to 2016! To view Madeleine Scott on Maxcima JR/YR Preliminary Show Jumping visit: http://www.rideonvideo.net/watch.php?vid=910e6d2e7 |
