Recap of Aspen Farms Horse Trials - Yelm, WA September 4th-6th

Congratulations to Sara Sellmer and Madeleine Scott on their trip to Aspen Farms this past weekend!

Sara competed with TF Kreisler (Brad) and Sloan McQuick (Femika) in the Open Intermediate. Brad's performance was strong and stable resulting in a third place finish. Due to an unfortunate trip in the first water jump of the cross country course, Femika received a mandatory retirement. Both horse and rider recovered quickly.

Madeleine finished in 8th with Maxima (owned by Malia Orr) in the Jr./YR Open Preliminary.  Maddi found Max to be relaxed and settled in the dressage ring and lovely in the stadium jumping; however she experienced a jump refusal on the cross country course.  Overall, Maddi was pleased with the outcome and and remarked "you can never be too aware out on the course. There is always something that catches you quicker than you think."
