It was another fantastic weekend for Lanzelot Stables in Yelm, WA at Aspen Horse Trials. We had two competitors from Lanzelot make the 18hr round trip, Sara Sellmer and Madeleine Scott. Sara placed 1st and 4th in the Open Intermediate Division. Following excerpt and photo reposted from Eventing Nation "Sara Sellmer from Kamloops, British Columbia, made a strong statement in Open Intermediate, taking first with TF Kreisler on 34.4 and fourth with Sloan McQuick on 46.3. Though Aspen Farms was the first attempt at Intermediate for both horses, they both finished on their dressage scores under Sara’s guidance. She had nothing but positive things to say about how the horses performed, especially TF Kreisler, also known as Brad. “Brad’s a really good mover,” Sara said. “He’s rideable in dressage; the judges tend to like him. His jumping has come leaps and bounds. Honestly Brad’s strongest trait is that he’s got a heart like no other. He’s an extremely trustworthy, solid citizen.” " Maddy went down with her horse Mini Cooper and Maxcima, owned by Malia Orr Radymski. This is her first season showing Maxcima, who performed really well and earned them a 12th place finish in the Prelim Division. Maddy said "Aspen was a great learning experience for both my horses and I. The course was difficult, yet not unreasonable for prelim level. The atmosphere is beyond anything you can witness at the BC events. My results weren't exactly what I was hoping for, but we came out of it looking forward to great things in the future."
